Bigger and Better Business became a principle concern of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity in 1924. At the 1925 Conclave, the voting body make Bigger and Better Business a national program. In April of 1926, business programs were sponsored by chapters throughout the nation. Since 1926, Bigger and Better Business Program has been sponsored on a national scale by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

The SBL focuses on building relationships that facilitate assisting Brothers in growing their businesses. The network assists chapters in identifying Sigma-owned businesses that offer products and services that Chapters can utilize in the execution of their day-to-day businesses.
Billboard Jackson Entrepreneurial Development Program
This program was named in honor of Hon. Bro. James A. “Billboard” Jackson, a corporate pioneer and the first black editor of Billboard Magazine, the program invites all aspiring entrepreneurs to participate in the biennial competition.
All participants compete for one of two $20,000 business development grants.
